  • How far in advance do I need to book?
If you have a specific date in mind, we strongly recommend that you book as soon as possible. However, we typically need at least two weeks of notice to be able to customize your event. We might be able to accommodate last-minute bookings. Please note that we are only open Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, and those dates can fill up fast. Weekends can be booked up months in advance.
  • How can I place a reservation?
Our booking process is simple. All you have to do is chose a package in the "Packages" tab, and follow the steps. Please note that we ask for a non-refundable deposit upon booking to block your date. We will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your deposit to confirm your add ons and schedule your 20 minutes consultation.
  • When do I need to pay for my PKNIK?
To lock your preferred date, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit for all our PKNIKs. The balance of payment is due one week before your event.
  • Do you require a security deposit?
We now require a 100$ security deposit for all our PKNIKs. We will return it to you once we have packed up and confirmed that nothing is missing or damaged. You are responsible for all the items until the arrival of your stylist and cannot leave the setup unattended until then. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for the bank transfer to be received by your financial institution.
  • Are there any delivery or installation fees?
Delivery and installation are included for all locations that are part of our list. For any other location that is not part of our preferred list, including private properties, additional fees might apply.
  • Should I include small children in my total guest count?
We do not charge for small children unless they need a full seat at the table. If you want your child to have a place at the table, please add him/her to the count.
  • Can I add more guests after I place my reservation?
Please contact us if you need to add guests to your PKNIK after you place your reservation. We will try to accommodate you. If we have enough material, you can always add guests up to 1 week before the event.
  • Can I remove guests after my reservation has been made?
Yes, you can remove guests if you give us one month of notice. We reserve items for your event and want to avoid penalizing other groups. For that reason, we cannot remove guests past that deadline.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
We understand things happen, but because we put our hearts and souls into every event, we require a non-refundable deposit to block your date. This deposit is non-refundable because we secured your event date and time, withheld that space from other clients, and spent time planning and creating your personalized experience. Please note that cancellations made within 48 hours of your event or less won't be refunded.
  • Can I cancel my event because of bad weather?
You can cancel your event because of bad weather if that's what you wish to do. However, we always recommend rescheduling to another available date when possible or moving you event to a covered / indoor space. We ask for a 48-hour notice when you choose to reschedule and charge an administrative fee of 50$ to handle the change.
  • What happens if it rains on the day of my event?
Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather, and we don't refund booking because of bad weather. However, we will always try to accommodate last-minute location changes to a covered area or an indoor location if you have one. You can ask to change the date of the event given a 48 hours notice, and we will gladly reschedule to an available date in our calendar. A 50$ administrative fee will be charged for all date changes.
  • How long will I have my PKNIK for?
You can use your gorgeous set for up to 3 hours. You can also buy additional time at 75$ per hour if requested upon booking. Day-of-the-event requests will only be accepted upon availability and will be charged at 150$ per hour. Please note that we ask that you give us an hour notice minimum if you wish to leave your picnic early. We also ask that you do not leave your picnic unattended. Please note that you will be found responsible for missing or damaged objects.
  • What if we are having too much fun and we want to extend our PKNIK?
You can add additional time to your PKNIK upon availability for an extra 150$ per hour. That fee will be payable by email transfer before the initially scheduled end-time of your event.
  • Can we leave the PKNIK at any time if it’s in a public park?
If you wish to leave earlier than your specified time, we need to be notified an hour in advance minimum. We ask that you wait for your stylist before leaving to prevent the items from being stolen or damaged. You are responsible for the decor until the arrival of your stylist.
  • Do you stay during the event?
We do not usually stay during your events, but it depends on the type of package you chose. Unless you need a PKNIK stylist to help with coordination, we generally wait for you to arrive and let you enjoy your experience. Your stylist will come back at the end of the scheduled time.
  • What happens if we are running late to the event?
We allow a 15 minutes grace period for late arrivals. We understand things happen, but we can't wait around because we often have other events to attend. Please understand that we will have to pack up and leave after 25 minutes of tardiness, and your PKNIK won't be refunded. If we are able to stay and wait for you, your event will have to be completed at the originally scheduled time.
  • Will my PKNIK be personalized?
We are proud to be the only picnic company in Montreal that offers personalized options in our basic packages. Every package comes with a personalized place card and a welcome sign. Additional customizing options are available as part of the add ons. Whether it's personalized cookies, party favors, customized boxes, we would be happy to recommend the best options available to you.
  • What parks do you operate at?
We have a secret list of premium locations that we only share with our clients after receiving a deposit. Our favorite PKNIK spots always come with a breathtaking view or are close to the water. We have a preference for intimate parks that have access to parking and restrooms. Any park that is not part of our list needs to be approved by us before committing to it.
  • How many guests can I invite to my PKNIK?
We can easily cater to groups of up to 100 guests. However, if your event takes place in a public space, we cannot set for more than 50 people at the same time. Please contact us for events of more than 100 guests.
  • Is it possible to speak to you over the phone? I’d love to ask you more questions.
We would love to speak to all of you over the phone, but we receive a high amount of requests, so, unfortunately, it is not possible for us to take all your calls. However, we want to offer the best possible experience to our clients, so we made sure to include a free consultation in all our packages. This consultation will be the perfect moment to go over what will make your event special and unique, as well as answering all your additional questions. We hope this Q&A section is helpful and will continue to add content that covers all the questions we typically receive.
  • Does PKNIK include food?
Most of our packages do not include food as we want to give you the opportunity of bringing your own. However, we have partnered with the best caterers in the city to offer you a list of perfect menus for your PKNIKs. Meal options usually start at 20$ per person. A delivery fee and a 20% gratuity will be added to your total.
  • Can I bring my own alcohol?
Yes you can! In Montreal, you are allowed to drink alcohol in a public park as long as you are consuming a meal with your drink. You can read more about it on the city's website: http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/portal/page?_pageid=8297,91507628&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
  • When is PKNIK season?
Contrary to popular belief, PKNIK season is all year long! Although we love to create magical setups outdoors, we also love a dreamy indoor PKNIK. Our high season is from June until early November, but we operate all year long.
  • Do you sell gift cards?
You can purchase a gift card for any value over 100$. Please contact us at info@pknik.ca for this option.
  • What are your COVID-19 safety measures?
All our equipment is thoughtfully cleaned after every event. Our team wears masks and gloves during the preparation of your PKNIK, the installation, and during pack-down. Additionally, we create social distancing events if your party has guests that come from different addresses.
